Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United American. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm shortly after. Corcoran is among ABC's first Shark Tank investors. To date she has appeared in each season of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals on the show, the largest one being $350,000 to purchase 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in an Irish-Catholic working class family. Florence, her mother, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran's early years. In times, her family relied on deliveries of food for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran claims that her father was a drunk who was rude to her mother and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling, later learning that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated in an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was fluent in several courses during her freshman year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
